We bought a 1 year old cocker spaniel named lark from high brass gun dogs. I have always trained my hunting dogs from pups and this is 1st time buying a started dog. Scotty, caity, and their 3 daughters did a wonderful job socializing and training lark. They really know what they are doing and all the details are seen to, like providing shot records vet records and micro chipping. I have had multiple hunting dogs at all times for 40 years and lark is our first cocker spaniel and after 2 weeks is already in the top 5 of all the dogs we have had. He is very smart and so willing to learn and please us. In 1st 2 weeks we hunted quail , pheasant, ducks and geese and he did a wonderful job. Was a lot of fun watching the little guy retrieve a big old goose. High brass gun dogs was recommended by a friend and we will recommend them to everyone we know.

"A beautiful and amazingly smart breed with high quality training from the breeder! I felt comfortable and confident in my purchase of another forever dog! We’ve only had her a week and she is smart beyond measure...crate trained, house trained, uses the doggy door without issue. She gets along great with our other dog as she was around many other dogs at the breeder, including her siblings. Would highly recommend anyone to get a pup from here! If they’re still breeding in the future, I’ll definitely get another pup from them!

Robin (Bandit x Spark)  pup is very smart, already potty trained, knows where the doggy door is and gets along well with her other dog siblings.

"This is Roxie! She has been training really well and is so smart! She loves sleeping in her crate(sometimes she tucks herself in), and taking long couch naps. She follows us all around the house and loves meeting new people. She enjoys playing fetch and fighting her duck. We also found out on the 4th of July that she absolutely loves watermelon (maybe a little too much). She has so much potential and is super fun!"

"Darla is getting SO confident and her personality is starting to really shine! She always has her eyes on us while solo exploring and loves to sit outside and calmly watch people and other dogs pass by. Her and her GSP cousin get along great and she bosses him around pretty well for her tiny size! We see her developing more and more every day and shes getting so many tricks down! She sleeps great in her crate, but loves some before bed snuggles and belly rubs. We are so in love with her and are so excited watching her grow!"

Billy was retrieving dove from water at just 6 months old. This guy went to Austin TX from NM with our travel buddy.

"Wanted to give a little update. I’m in love with this little guy! We’ve officially named him Rupert (Ru) for short. He’s getting along well with our home and already knows how to come inside after going potty. He’ll follow around like a little shadow, and does well settling in his crate for naps and overnight. He’s super smart and has already started some training!  The eye contact and focus is amazing to see at 8 weeks. Ru loves to play and run around in our yard. He’s also done well on car trips and at the vet. I can’t  wait to watch this little one grow up. But trying to enjoy the puppy phase too. He’s just too cute!"

We drove from Alabama to New Mexico to pick up our second ECS from Scotty and Caity. We got asked why we would drive so far for a puppy, but because we are so happy with our first puppy from HBGD that we had to have a second. The drive is worth it to us when we can get a puppy from a breeder that we trust. Thank you so much.
